Witwake exists to make indoor air feel alive again — using biology that already works, engineered to a standard interiors deserve.
From a bench reactor to a living object
Witwake started in a small applied-biology lab studying why algal cultures thrive in some conditions and collapse in others. The insight was simple: the biology was never the bottleneck — the engineering around it was. Pneuma Tree is the answer to that, a stable, serviceable, beautiful home for a living culture.
Every decision since has followed the same rule: the science must be honest, the maintenance must be realistic, and the object must be something people are glad to live with.
Our mission
To make oxygen-rich, cleaner indoor air an everyday standard rather than a luxury — through biology that is safe, measurable and sustainable.
Our vision
A generation of buildings that behave less like sealed boxes and more like living systems, where every interior contributes something back to the people inside it.
Our team
Biologists, engineers and designers in one room
Pneuma Tree sits at the intersection of three disciplines, so our team is deliberately built that way.
Applied biology
Culture selection, productivity modelling, nutrient chemistry and long-term culture stability.
Hardware engineering
Airflow, thermal management, lighting spectrum, acoustics and serviceable mechanical design.
Data & software
Sensor fusion, culture-health telemetry, the companion app and fleet dashboards for institutions.
Design & deployment
Industrial design, interior integration, installation and ongoing service partnerships.
