From a bench reactor to a living object
Witwake started in a small applied-biology lab studying why algal cultures thrive in some conditions and collapse in others. The insight was simple: the biology was never the bottleneck — the engineering around it was. Pneuma Tree is the answer to that, a stable, serviceable, beautiful home for a living culture.
Every decision since has followed the same rule: the science must be honest, the maintenance must be realistic, and the object must be something people are glad to live with.
